Decathlon
Barefoot brand from France.
Decathlon is a big French sports retailer, and I like that it makes its own affordable-looking kids' barefoot shoes under the Crawler and Stepper names. Crawler is for babies and early walkers, while Stepper (Daily, Sporty and Fresh) covers older children, with a wide toe box, flexible zero drop sole and easy rip-tab fastenings. The uppers are mesh or durable synthetic, and it is kids only, with no adult barefoot range of its own.
Specialities: mainstream brand, kids, toddlers
How Decathlon fits
rounded toe box, standard width
The toe box is rounded and a bit roomier than a usual trainer, but not as roomy as Vivobarefoot, so very wide feet may find it snug. Check size by standing your child on the removed insole, then pop it back in as it's needed for comfort.
