Proalp make barefoot and minimalist shoes by hand in their own workshop in Tržič, Slovenia, mostly from leather sourced within 350 km. The range covers everyday shoes, ankle boots, hiking shoes and a few sandals, with wide toe boxes and many models in two to four widths plus half sizes. They also make some thicker-soled and non-barefoot hiking styles, so check the product page if you want a true barefoot sole.

I'd size by foot length, as the chart already builds in 12 mm of toe room, and pick from their three widths. The roomiest option suits wide feet, but reviewers find it generous at the toes and snugger at the heel, so high volume feet may struggle.
